Watching men watch the match

On Monday night I was killing time, and decided to wander a bit downtown. I’ve been told that downtown Cairo, or Wust Al-Balad, follows a French design of concentric circles, but I have yet to look at a map to confirm this, preferring instead to let the streets send me where they will: often, in circles. That night Egypt was playing Cameroon in the Africa Cup, and groups of men were out in the streets watching.

  1. Except…I see women watching the match as well.

  2. Me too!

Beautiful photos, Amira; the similarities between groups, the way they arrange themselves, one is like an echo of the other.
